Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 8 soft hoagie rolls or sub buns
- 8 slices crispy bacon
- 1 cup bourbon BBQ sauce
- 4 slices cheddar cheese or cheeseburger cheese slices
- Fresh lettuce and tomato slices for serving
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly and form into 1.5-inch meatballs.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat. Cook the meatballs until browned on all sides and cooked through about 8-10 minutes, or bake at 400°F (200°C) for 15 minutes.
- Heat bourbon BBQ sauce in a small saucepan over low-medium heat. Toss cooked meatballs in the sauce until coated evenly.
- Slice hoagie rolls lengthwise, leaving a hinge. Place two meatballs with sauce inside each roll. Top with crispy bacon slices and cheese. Broil for 2-3 minutes until cheese melts and bread edges toast lightly.
