Description

Discover the deliciously creamy Italian Chicken Florentine Pasta recipe that combines tender chicken, fresh spinach, and a rich sauce for a flavorful meal. Perfect for weeknights or special occasions, this easy-to-make dish brings authentic Italian taste to your table with minimal effort.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs, sliced into strips
  • 3 cups fresh spinach, chopped
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 8 ounces of your favorite pasta (penne, fettuccine, or linguine works well)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Season the sliced chicken with salt, black pepper, and Italian seasoning. Cook until golden and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove and set aside.
  2. In the same skillet, add more olive oil if needed. Sauté minced garlic until fragrant, about 1 minute. Add chopped spinach and cook until wilted, about 2-3 minutes.
  3. Pour in heavy cream, bring to a gentle simmer. Stir in Parmesan cheese and cook until the sauce thickens slightly, about 3-4 minutes. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper.
  4. Add cooked chicken back into the skillet, toss to coat.
  5. Meanwhile, cook pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and add to the skillet, mixing well.
  6. Serve hot, garnished with additional Parmesan cheese and fresh herbs if desired. Pair with a green salad and white wine for an authentic Italian experience.

Notes

  • Use fresh spinach for best flavor and texture.
  • If the sauce thickens too much, add a splash of cream or broth to loosen it.
  • This dish can be prepared ahead and refrigerated; reheat gently to preserve the sauce consistency.
