Instructions

- In a large bowl, whisk together mashed bananas, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Sift together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, salt, and espresso powder in a separate bowl.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips if using.
- Pour batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top. Bake for 55-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cover with foil halfway for a darker crust if desired.
- Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack. Slice and serve.
