- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
- 1 1/2 cups warm water (110°F)
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons melted butter (for brushing)
Instructions
- Combine warm water, sugar, and yeast in a bowl. Let it sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, salt, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- Mix in the yeast mixture and olive oil until a rough dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes, adding shredded mozzarella cheese during the process.
- Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Punch down the risen dough and shape it into a loaf.
- Place the dough in a greased loaf pan or on a baking sheet, brush with melted butter, and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden and hollow sounding.
Notes
- Store the bread wrapped in plastic or foil at room temperature for up to 2 days.
- For longer storage, slice and freeze in an airtight container for up to 3 months.
