  • Cornmeal for dusting

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine 3 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 ½ teaspoons of salt, and 1 packet of active dry yeast. Stir well to combine.
  2. Gradually add 1 ¼ cups of warm water and 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Mix until a shaggy dough forms.
  3. Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until the dough is smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl and cover it with a damp cloth. Allow it to rise for about 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size.
  5. After the dough has risen, punch it down and transfer it to a floured surface. Divide the dough into equal portions and shape them into rolls.
  6. Place the rolls on a baking sheet dusted with cornmeal, cover, and let them rise for another 30 minutes while preheating the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  7. Bake the rolls for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
