Indulge in the luscious flavors of a Guinness Chocolate Cake, uniquely blended with rich chocolate and the deep notes of Guinness stout. This cake promises moistness and decadence, making it a perfect centerpiece for celebrations or a cozy night at home.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup Guinness stout
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1.5 tsp baking powder
  • 1.5 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1 cup heavy cream (for ganache)
  • 8 oz bittersweet chocolate (for ganache)

Instructions

  1. Sift together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt into a large mixing bowl.
  2. In another bowl, whisk together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, then stir in the sour cream and vanilla extract.
  3. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with the Guinness stout.
  4. Pour the batter into a greased cake pan. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 40-45 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let it cool.
  5. Prepare the ganache by heating the heavy cream and pouring it over chopped bittersweet chocolate. Whisk until smooth.
