- 2 pounds ground beef
- 4 large potatoes, sliced
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 can (15 oz) diced tomatoes, undrained
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 cup shredded cheese (optional)
Instructions
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat and cook the ground beef and onions until browned.
- Stir in Worcestershire sauce, diced tomatoes, garlic powder, thyme, salt, and pepper.
- In a large bowl, layer sliced potatoes with the beef mixture.
- In a greased baking dish, layer the beef and potato mixture and pour cream of mushroom soup on top.
- If desired, sprinkle shredded cheese on top, cover with foil.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for about 1 hour.
- Remove the foil for the last 15 minutes for a crispy top.

- Let the casserole cool for a few minutes before serving.
