Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup pizza sauce
  • Your choice of toppings (pepperoni, bell peppers, onions, etc.)
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix together the all-purpose flour, salt, and baking powder. Add the olive oil and mix until crumbly. Gradually add water, mixing until a soft dough forms. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth. Cover and let it rest for 20 minutes.
  2. Roll the dough out on a floured surface until it’s about 1/4 inch thick. Cut out circles of dough using a round cutter.
  3. Lay out the dough circles and add a spoonful of pizza sauce in the center. Top with shredded mozzarella cheese and preferred toppings. Fold the dough to create a half-moon shape and seal the edges with a fork.
  4. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). On a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, place the stuffed pizza pockets. Brush the tops with a beaten egg. Bake for about 20-25 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool slightly before serving.
