Instructions
- Start by making the salted caramel sauce: melt 1/2 cup of salted butter over medium heat. Add sugar and whisk until golden amber. Pour in heavy cream and stir until smooth. Add vanilla extract and sea salt. Simmer until thickened.
- Peel, core, and slice apples. Toss with cinnamon and sugar if desired. Set aside.
- Combine flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl. Add cold butter and mix until crumbly to form the crust and crumble topping.
- Press two-thirds of the mixture into a greased baking pan to form the crust.
- Spread apple slices evenly over the crust. Drizzle generously with hot salted caramel sauce. Sprinkle remaining crumble over the apples.
- Bake at 350ยฐF (175ยฐC) for 35-40 minutes until golden brown and bubbly. Cool before slicing.
