Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb (450g) ground beef
  • 8 oz (225g) Asian-style noodles or ramen
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce or oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
  • 1/4 cup green onions, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional for heat)
  • Sesame seeds for garnish (optional)
  • Cooking oil (vegetable or canola)

Instructions

  1. Cook the Asian-style noodles according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside. Toss with a little sesame oil if desired.
  2. In a large skillet or wok, heat 1-2 tablespoons of cooking oil. Add the ground beef and cook over medium heat until browned, about 5-7 minutes, breaking apart with a spoon.
  3. Stir in the minced garlic and grated ginger; cook for 30 seconds until fragrant. Add soy sauce, hoisin or oyster sauce, and sesame oil, mixing well. Sprinkle red pepper flakes if using.
  4. If thickening, dissolve 1 tablespoon of cornstarch in 2 tablespoons of water, then add to the skillet. Stir until the sauce thickens.
  5. Add cooked noodles to the beef mixture and toss until coated and heated through.
  6. Garnish with sliced green onions and sprinkle sesame seeds. Serve hot for a hearty, flavorful meal.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, marinate the beef with a little soy sauce beforehand.
  • You can add vegetables like bell peppers or broccoli for added crunch and nutrition.
  • Adjust the spice level by adding more red pepper flakes according to your preference.
  • Leftovers store well in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Reheat in a skillet or microwave, adding a splash of water or broth to keep noodles moist.
