Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb (450g) ground beef
- 8 oz (225g) Asian-style noodles or ramen
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce or oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
- 1/4 cup green onions, sliced
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional for heat)
- Sesame seeds for garnish (optional)
- Cooking oil (vegetable or canola)
Instructions
- Cook the Asian-style noodles according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside. Toss with a little sesame oil if desired.
- In a large skillet or wok, heat 1-2 tablespoons of cooking oil. Add the ground beef and cook over medium heat until browned, about 5-7 minutes, breaking apart with a spoon.
- Stir in the minced garlic and grated ginger; cook for 30 seconds until fragrant. Add soy sauce, hoisin or oyster sauce, and sesame oil, mixing well. Sprinkle red pepper flakes if using.
- If thickening, dissolve 1 tablespoon of cornstarch in 2 tablespoons of water, then add to the skillet. Stir until the sauce thickens.
- Add cooked noodles to the beef mixture and toss until coated and heated through.
- Garnish with sliced green onions and sprinkle sesame seeds. Serve hot for a hearty, flavorful meal.
Notes
- For extra flavor, marinate the beef with a little soy sauce beforehand.
- You can add vegetables like bell peppers or broccoli for added crunch and nutrition.
- Adjust the spice level by adding more red pepper flakes according to your preference.
- Leftovers store well in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Reheat in a skillet or microwave, adding a splash of water or broth to keep noodles moist.
