Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb (450g) ground beef
- 4 cups broccoli florets
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce (optional but recommended)
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch (mixed with 2 teaspoons water)
- Sesame seeds and sliced green onions for garnish
Instructions
- In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, oyster sauce, and sesame oil. Set aside.
- Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking apart with a spoon. Drain excess fat if necessary. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Add broccoli florets to the skillet and stir-fry for 3-5 minutes until tender-crisp. Pour in the sauce and stir to coat. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
- Mix cornstarch with water to make a slurry. Add to the skillet to thicken the sauce if needed. Remove from heat once the desired consistency is reached.
- Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions. Serve hot over rice or your preferred side.
Notes
- Use fresh garlic for a vibrant flavor.
- Prepare all ingredients beforehand to streamline cooking process.
- Adjust the sweetness or saltiness of the sauce according to your taste.
- For a spicier kick, add a dash of red pepper flakes.
