Combining flavorful sausage and crisp cabbage, this stir fry offers a nutritious and satisfying meal that is easy to prepare and full of flavor. Ideal for those seeking a wholesome, low-effort dish that can be customized with your favorite seasonings and vegetables.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 400g (14 oz) of your favorite sausage links or sausage slices
  • 1 medium head of cabbage, sliced thin
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce or tamari for a gluten-free option
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • Optional: red pepper flakes for a spicy kick

Instructions

  1. Slice the cabbage and chop the onion and garlic. If using sausage links, cut them into bite-sized pieces.
  2. Heat the olive or sesame oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the sausage slices and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove the cooked sausage and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add the chopped onion and minced garlic. Cook until fragrant, about 2 minutes. Then, add the sliced cabbage and cook for another 5-8 minutes until it becomes tender yet still slightly crispy.
  4. Return the cooked sausage to the skillet. Add soy sauce, black pepper, and optional red pepper flakes. Stir well and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
  5. Dish out your sausage with cabbage hot, garnished with fresh herbs if desired. Serve with steamed rice, cauliflower rice, or noodles.
