Description

Sausage and Sweet Potatoes with Honey Garlic Sauce is a delicious one-pan meal that combines hearty sausage and roasted sweet potatoes, all drizzled with a delightful honey garlic sauce. This sweet and savory dish is easy to prepare, making it perfect for weeknight dinners and family gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound of sausage (Italian or your choice)
  • 2 large sweet potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). In a mixing bowl, combine the cubed sweet potatoes with olive oil, salt, and pepper, ensuring they are evenly coated.
  2. Spread the seasoned sweet potatoes onto a baking sheet in a single layer. Roast in the oven for about 25-30 minutes, or until they are tender and golden brown, flipping halfway through for even cooking.
  3. While the sweet potatoes are roasting, heat a skillet over medium heat and add the sausages. Cook for about 8-10 minutes, turning occasionally until they are browned and cooked through. Once cooked, remove them from the skillet and slice them into bite-sized pieces.
  4. In the same skillet, add minced garlic and sauté for about a minute until fragrant. Stir in the honey, soy sauce, and red pepper flakes. Once combined, add roasted sweet potatoes and sliced sausages back into the skillet, tossing to coat everything in the honey garlic sauce.

Notes

  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • This dish pairs well with steamed broccoli or a fresh green salad.
  • For gluten-free, ensure soy sauce is gluten-free or use coconut aminos.
